  1. Population it's small--in area she;s huge and loaded with resources

  2. Canada, for a country that is the 2nd largest geographically, has a small population (33 million).

As to why that is, my best educated guess would be that Canada has a high standard of living.  Meaning that it has a low number of poor citizens as compared to countries that have a high population.  Poor people, unfortunately have a tendency to reproduce children at a higher rate than middle or upper class people.

  3. Compared to what?

It's hard to say if it's high or low. It's around 31 million (across the country). If you compare that to India... well New Delhi has 31 million in the city alone, so Canada is small.

Compared to a country like... I dunno, that's small (like Luxembourg or something), then it's small.

It depends. You have to compare it to something to say whether it's big or small (number-wise or another country kind of comparison)

  4. Population

    -  2008 estimate 33,246,000[1]

    36th most populous
