Question:

Pornography regulations on condoms?

A lot of older feminists were vehemently against any form of pornography. Now, with all these self proclaimed s*x-positive women the trend has been reversed. I don't care if you are for against it, but I am a little concerned that women who are in this industry are still afforded with very little protection. I am remotely involved in the industry and I know a few p**n actresses who have told me that they would much prefer if their male partners on sets were made to wear condoms. Currently the only form of protection that is mandated is an STD test every 25 days.

Unless the actress is a big star and she can get a contract they would not get medical coverage. 97% of performers won't get contracts. Furthermore, the women are always responsible for birth control. Something's gotta give. The studios pay a lot more if the actress is willing to work without condoms. If that incentive was removed through regulation it would be great help to female performers.

  1. By the time someone is of age to watch p**n they should be able to understand that condoms are important. As for your main question, whatever it actually is, perhaps the p**n industry would suffer greatly if condoms were essential, and aslong as women are willing enough to peform without condoms they will always get paid more if what you have said is reliable. If people don't like it they shouldn't do it untill it is resolved, and if they stick together and protest until such rules come into place they might have something to complain about. As it stands, the women who are prepared to have s*x with someone not wearing a condom are to blame for the fact that such regulations aren't enforced.

  2. ""A lot of older feminists were vehemently against any form of pornography. Now, with all these self proclaimed s*x-positive women the trend has been reversed"".   Really?   p**n is still made for the male audience.   Soft p**n has made inroads into society.  The effect several years from now when these young ladies mature - and face some career repercussions might change things.

I am still concerned about the lack of protection for anyone in that industry.   In 25 days a lot of HIV and other STD's can float around.    And the use of condoms might protect everyone - including reducing the rate of unintentional pregnancy.

  3. I think if they used condoms in the films, people wouldn't pay as much as they wanht to see the intimate actions. I don't think that industry will ever be completely safe.

  4. If you remember Madonna's s*x Book a few years ago, there was some outcry about sexual scenes where no one was wearing condoms. Madonna countered that the book was about sexual imagination and fantasies, and let's face it: condoms rarely make an appearance in our fantasies.

But in the p**n community they are real people having real s*x and some have contracted AIDS during filming. Nowadays people can't smoke in restaurants because of the danger it poses to waitstaff, so way do we still allow p**n actors to be exposed to such a deadly risk?

I think any industry needs to put the health and safety of its workers before the enjoyment of its customers.
