Can anyone suggest a better way to get from the Carnival Cruise Port to the airport. We need to catch an 11am flight after we debark? Sounds like taxi sevice is poor?

  1. Sounds like "blebert2002" had an unfortunate experience in Tampa.  I've done it twice and never had a problem with taxis.  The airport (Tampa International) is about 15 minutes from the cruise terminal and we always get there in plenty of time.  The St. Pete/Clearwater airport is about 45 minutes away.

I'm assuming that you booked your own flights, as 11 AM is a little on the early side for the cruise line, (they usually don't like you to book flights before noon), but ask your travel agent or Carnival, at what time their shuttle service starts.  If you had Carnival book your air, you can absolutely be assured that they will have shuttle service available for you.  This can be purchased for very nominal fee, and will offer you a no hassle way to travel.

Make sure when you receive your "Disembarkation Questionnaire Form", that you list your 11AM flight and request early (self) disembarkation if you're catching a cab.

Enjoy your cruise and bon voyage.

  2. All I can say is good luck. I just got back from my cruise from Tampa. They will be people there that will take you for about $20.00 I think it was. But you will need to self assist debark. (which means carry you own bags off) and hope you can get off in time. On my cruise, they didn't start letting people off the boat till around 8 am.

Good Luck, and I hope you have a better time than I did!
