  1. We took a cruise out of that port a couple years ago when they first started using it as a cruise ship port again.  I don't know if its improved since, but in my opinion at that time it was pretty much a dump. I have cruised out of Miami, Ft Lauderdale, Boston, Vancouver, and Long beach and this was the worse of the bunch. When we checked in the had us sit in what was a warehouse that they had painted the inside of and had plastic chairs for the wait.  Then when it was time to board we had to board a bus to take us about 1/2 mile to the ship.

The place was hard to get to and they actually changed the departure port on us from Manhatten to NJ after we had made flight reservations so we had to get van service from Kennedy Airport.

But, it may have been improved now.  Here's the web site:

  2. cape liberty is the name of the port in bayonne lol....

  3. I have been on the Explorer of the Seas.  It is a great ship and Royal Caribbean is a great cruise line.

I've also been to the islands that you are stopping at.  Dominican Republic is beautiful - definately do a beach day there.  Haiti is horrible - I'd stay on the ship that day.  Lots of beggers and just a terrible little place.

Cruises are great - have fun!!

  4. Hi, Cape Liberty is the name of the cruise port in Bayonne, NJ it is not a destination on your cruise, it is the port you will be leaving from.  Also, I have been on 37 cruises, too many to remember all the ships, but I can tell you this, Explorer of the Seas is fantastic. All cruise ships have something unique to offer, I havent been on one ship that I didn't like.

    Have a great vacation.
