Portable a/c?

Question

I recently went to purchase a portable a/c-not a window unit-which includes a window vent kit. No one could tell me how this vents out the window-and I went to 3 stores including a hardware store.Can anyone help me?? Can I do this myself? this would be more practical for my situation than a window a/c.

I have a portable A/C unit and it came with a hose and window kit.  You just open the window about a third of the way, install the window kit and then attach the hose to the window kit.  Works pretty well.
