Portable air conditioner window kit

Question

I am looking at purchasing a portable air conditioner for my no windows office. It has evaporating coils and said never needs to be drained. What's the window kit aka window vent kit used for then?

AC units can really dry out the air in my area the air is so dry it causes visitors to get nosebleeds so if you pull air in from outside you're not drying the ari so bad by recirculating over and over again through the unit and in that installation it can also be used just to be a fan bringing in fresh air during spring and fall or the smell of rain when it's raining

It doesn't need a window to mount in, HOWEVER, the heated exhaust air must go somewhere. The window vent kit is for venting the heated, moisture laden exhaust air outdoors. Use the kit and its duct to direct the exhaust air outside, or to some other isolated unused space.
