Portable hard drive attached to ps3?

Question

i hav a buffalo portable hard drvie and wuld like to connect it to my ps3.

but wen i connect it to the console via a USB port, i cannot find it anywhere on the console, even tho the hard disk has power flowing to it from the USB.

it is in the wrong format. go on your computer, open up my computer, right-click on your portable drive, and select 'format' and select  Fat 32.. this will erase all data (obviously back it up on the pc) and it should work. add details if you have a question.
