Portal 2 gets FREE ‘Peer Review’ DLC, we repeat for FREE!
Valve have sent the fans of Portal 2 into mass delirium after not only announcing an upcoming Downloadable Content Pack for the game, but also delivering a double whammy by announcing that the DLC itself would be absolutely free.
First thing first, one can be sure that every single gamer in the world would like the chance to express their gratitude to Valve for putting the word ‘free’ next to a DLC pack and treating its fans with respect and ensuring their loyalty for generations
to come.
Secondly, we would like to take this opportunity to ask the rest of the publishers in the gaming world to follow Valve’s brilliant example, especially a certain publisher by the name of Activision.
With that out of the way, it is time to delve into the details of the DLC which is set to hit all major platforms, Sony’s PlayStation 3, Microsoft’s Xbox 360 and PCs, on October 4.
The DLC is titled, ‘Peer Review’ and it continues the adventures of Atlas and P-Body, the two bots who players assume the roles of in the game’s outstanding cooperative multiplayer experience.
Peer Review will come with a number of new challenges for the comical pair to put their minds and their portal guns through as they encounter a variety of distinct puzzles.
The DLC will not restrict itself to new challenges for the cooperative mode either, as there are set to be a number of new puzzles for the single player and co-op Challenge Mode as well. This will also add leader boards into the mix.
It has also been confirmed that the evil cybernetic mastermind, GLaDOS, will also be featuring in the game one way or the other, yet there is not any news on whether or not there will be any cake.
With Christmas just two months away, Valve seem to have decided to get into the festive, giving spirit a little early as they also announced that the Portal 2 soundtrack will also be available for download.
The best part about all the news surrounding the DLC is of course, the fact that it will cost gamers nothing. Peer Review will be an automatic download and gamers on consoles will be able to download and access it with the update of the game. PC users will
also access the update with their Steam accounts.
One can expect the upcoming update download to take longer than usual, seeing how it comes with new puzzles and all, but we are sure no one will be complaining. The only thing missing now is news surrounding the mysterious Half Life 2: Episode 3.
