Question:

Portfolio fails to load in MarketTracker?

I have a Yahoo Finance portfolio. I subscribed to real-time quotes so I could view MarketTracker, however I am unable to get the portfolio to load into MarketTracker. I have updated IE, Firefox and Java. The Java console shows that the launcher starts, but nothing happens after that. I have allowed cookies and cleared the cache. I have changed to an earlier version of the JRE. I don't know what else to try. Does anyone have any suggestions?

  1. Most likely to be a security-related problem.  For example, on IE, you may not be getting the download prompt because of how you've set up security options, or you have a popup blocker getting in the way.  Something similar perhaps in Firefox.

I don't use Market Tracker much myself any more, since I find that the streaming quotes feature meets my needs.  But I just tried it on both browsers, and it works fine for me, although this is a new machine.

Try pasting this URL directly into your browser, and see what happens.  http://finance.yahoo.com/jmt/us/launcher...

(It's hard to diagnose & debug without direct access to your browser, so I'd suggest that you ask someone for help if you remain stuck.  This should be solvable.)
