Portland Dinner Cruises

Question

I am having, what I intend to be a fairly romantic weekend later this month and could use some input from people who have gone on dinner cruises in Portland.

The only company I am really aware of is the Portland Spirit. I have been on the Spirit before, but I discovered they also operate several other vessels.

There are two dates that I am looking at, one would be a dinner cruise on the Portland Spirit, the other would be on their vessel The Crystal Dolphin.

Does anyone know anything about this 2nd ship. It looks a little bit smaller and more intimate which might be nice.

Any other suggestions are welcome as well.

Portland in what state?  There is a Portland, ME, and there is a Portland, OR....they are a couple thousand miles apart.

I personally don't like either of those dinner cruises.  They are very "touristy" to me.  Sorry =(

I think the most romantic restaurant in Portland is Ringside.  It has AMAZING service, dark ambiant lighting and can be a 2 hour experience.   Salty's on the Columbia off Marine Drive is a bit dated but really is a lovely place.  Skip The Chart House - it's really gone down hill.  El Gaucho is great on service & food but is very busy and big on what Portland would call celebrities.  A not so common place is Don Shula's but (duh) the theme is classic football... it is near several boutique hotels that are chic & romantic.
