Portland Timbers vs. Los Angeles Galaxy – First Half match report 
Portland Timbers hosted http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Los-Angeles-Galaxy-c39818 at Jeld-Wen Field in a Major League Soccer week-21 fixture on Wednesday, August 3.
The Timbers started the game in brisk pace and won two free-kicks in the offensive half in the first three minutes. Kenny Cooper attempted a shot at goal in the 5th
minute of the game but the ball sailed over the crossbar.
The forward tried his luck yet again in the 8th minute but his smoking attempt was blocked by the Galaxy goalkeeper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Josh-Saunders-c19537.
It was http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jorge-c19120 Perlaza’s turn to try his luck soon after. The player took charge of the ball and dribbled into the box. However, his lobbed attempt failed to trick Saunders, who made a routine save.
The game was a one-sided affair that this point as the Timbers attempted to open the score line from time to time, looking for the opener before the half time whistle.
Cooper made another attempt at goal with a header but the ball missed the post by a few inches and the score line remained intact.
However, Portland were soon rewarded for their persistence as the team scored two goals in quick succession. Darlington Nagbe found http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mike-Chabala-c25693 with a free kick on the 26th minute mark, and Chabala finished into the far post from the left.
The second goal came seven minutes later when http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Diego-Chara-c11106 received the ball near the half-line and dribbled close to the box before feeding Perlaza with a through ball inside the box. Perlaza made no mistake with the finish and sent his team into the lead.
Two minutes later, Nagbe tried to triple the lead but Saunders made the save, and the first half ended with Portland Timbers leading the score line.
