Portland Trailblazers are in no hurry to re-start their search for a General Manager: NBA News

The Portland Trailblazers are all set to start reforming as soon as possible for the next. However, they are not in a hurry to restart their search of a new general manager after failing to find a suitable candidate in their initial
search.
Trail Blazers’ president Larry Miller has declared that he, owner Paul Allen and interim general manager Chad Buchanan will be handling the responsibilities of the GM for the time being.
"We want to bring in somebody when we do bring in a GM that really enhances the team that we have in place. We just didn't feel like we found that in our initial search and right now we are happy with where we are."  Larry Miller
said.
Two of the most important decisions that the three executives have to make when the NBA lockout is lifted are to decide the future of the shooting guard Brandon Roy and restricted free agent Greg Oden.
Larry Miller rejected the rumours that Portland Trailblazers have decided to use the amnesty clause on the talented point guard Roy after he has done so much for t the organization. The 27-year-old Brandon has a maximum salary
contract until the 2013-2014 season.
Brandon Roy carried two knee injuries in the last season because of which he missed 35 regular season games. This is why many reports erupted stating that the Blazers will use amnesty clause on Roy. However, Larry Miller declared
that the team management will have a discussion with him before making any decision and they also contacted Brandon’s agent on Wednesday morning in this regard.
"With everything that Brandon has done for this organization, there's no way we would make a decision like that without having conversations with them, without evaluating where he is and seeing what's going on with him," Miller
said.
On the other hand, Miller is hopeful that Oden will stay with the team and recuperate from his injuries which have derailed his career.
The Trail Blazers drafted the big man as the first overall pick in the 2007 NBA Draft, but the big man has not been able to make an impact so far because of career threatening injuries. The shortened NBA season will help Greg Oden
for sure and if he remains fit, the Trail Blazers will have a potent combination at hand.
