Porto offer warning to the likes of Manchester City, Arsenal and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786
Porto Chairman, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Costa-c9458 has gone on to state that the Portuguese club will not be looking to offload any of their players for a penny less than their worth. He also went on to add that all the players had a buyout clause set into their contracts and
should a team be interested in landing their players, they would have to meet that clause.
The chairman has made these comments in the wake of Porto manager, Andre Villas-Boas walking out of the Portuguese club, with Chelsea seeming to be his most likely destination.
However, with the manager having left the club, it is now being rumoured that a host of other players, including the likes of Joao Moutinho, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hulk-c16436 could all be on their way out of Portugal, with the Premier League the most likely of destinations.
Da Cotsa, who seems to have been made aware of this potential turnover, has stated that he does not wish to part ways with his club’s assets, but would be more than willing to accept offers from clubs, who pay full price for his players.
Da Costa is quoted to have said: "If there are contracts with release clauses, we have to be prepared that some player might want to leave if the stipulated figure is met"
"I will not go to any country to negotiate. Just like it happened with Andre Villas-Boas, there will be no talks: there is an account number and money deposited there."
However, when asked about the possibility of any of his players leaving, or if the team have had any contact regarding the transfer of players, Costa responded by stating: "We have not had any contact about the transfer of players and we do not know the intention
of any one of them to leave."
Despite the Chairman having made those comments, it is fairly obvious that the star players at the club are set to be on their way out of the club. Falcao has already been linked with moves to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429, Tottenham, Manchester City and Chelsea, while Hulk is
being rumoured to be amongst one of the prime targets for City. Moutinho on the other hand, has not yet been targeted by any club, but, his move away from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Portugal-c2984 is also being rumoured to be a soon to occur event.
That being said, it seems like City might just go on to be the hands down favourites to landing all three of those players, considering the fact that they are the only side which are capable of meeting all the player’s buyout clauses with ease.
