Ok my homework says that i need to turn in 5 finished prints of 5 different people (one for each person) and they have to be portraits. They all have to be in a single consistent style! Any ideas? I was thinking outdoor (nature like photos) kind of like the one's you get for a senior picture. But how would i make these portraits in the same style for each individual person? Please help! Thanks

  1. HI B22.   I think a style that would be ideal for your homework project is the Environmental Portrait.    This requires you take pictures of your subjects in their working environment.  I had this assignment in a college photo class a few years back.

Some that I did....   Cafeteria lady at her cash register in the school cafeteria.   Bank official, professionally dressed at her bank office desk.    FedEx driver coming down the steps of his FedEx truck.    Student with paper work on his desk and pencil in his hand.     Teacher teaching a lesson.    Firemen standing up next to the fire engine or inside the cab in uniform.      I think you could get some great shots....   I did and made an A on the assignment as well.    I am sure there are other ideas,  but this is actually the easiest.   Hope I was able to help you out.   :))

  2. Five people mouth agape laughing all wearing a white top and sitting. Try for the same color in the background.

be sure to catch them from the same angle - to the left off center or right off center and the portrait should be taken at the same distance.

Go to a park find a bench near an object - focus in on where a person will sit in relation to the object - as people wearing your chosen color that does well with your selected background - ask them if they will let you take their pic sitting there - have some riotous joke ready too.

Call it your happy bench group. lol

  3. same style as you are defining it seems to mean having something in common. to get specifics on a class project it's best to ask your teacher. if you have put it off to long...ask someone in your class who is doing really well or someone who asked the teacher.
