The Simpsons uses the police officers to make fun of society. The police officers are shown eating donuts all day. They are portrayed as lazy as well and somewhat stupid because of their poor decisions. For examples, the criminals always get away from them. In a way, we can say that they are portraying our legal system and its quality by showing that all police officers do is eat donuts and make poor decisions.
