Having plyed his trade with Redbull Salzburg and gained considerable European experience over the years, the 28-year-old will be a warm welcome to the side, who have been struggling for goals in the past few months.
Yannick Djalo (Free Transfer to Benfica)
The former Sporting Lisbon man has made a switch to Estadio da Luz after being out of contract since the summer.
Djalo was initially on his way to Nice in closing stages of the summer window, but FIFA rejected the transfer as it was registered after the time limit. The 25-year-old then returned to Lisbon, only to find out that he was no longer a part of Domingos Paciencia’s plans.
After training with the Lions for the past few months, he has committed his future to Benfica and will be looking to make his debut in the club’s League Cup tie against Maritimo on the 4th of February.

Speaking to reporters, Xandao revealed his delight upon joining the Sportinguistas and revealed his lofty ambitions of making his mark at the helm.
"I am honoured and happy to represent this big club which is Sporting. My goal is to make my mark in the history of his club and win titles. I know that it may take some time to adapt but since we speak the same language it can faster."
