How do you say "im full" in portuguese? I have a friend you went to Brazil and the host and hostess served him food. They would ask him something that sounded like "estas conforme?" which was supposed to mean "are you still hungry", but he understood "are you full" and he would answer yes. Then the host would serve him more, when he really meant "yes im full'.

Anyway, I just wanted to know what does conforme mean in Portuguese and if Im spelling it right.

Thank you. BTW I love the portuguese language. Very pleasant to the ear. :)

  1. To answer your first question about "How do you say "I'm full" in Portuguese you have a couple of options from Portugal:

Obrigado(a), mas nao posso comer mais - Thanks, but I cannot eat more

Ja chega, estou cheio - "that's enough, i'm full"

And oddly full (cheio) is also used to describe being hungry:

Estou cheio de fome - I am starving! (literal - i am full of hunger)

And yes - "estas con fome" = literal - are you with hunger.

  2. estas conforme? that mean are you ok?

  3. Well, most probably what the brazilian said was "estás com fome" (are you hungry) and not "conforme".

    Fome means hunger.
