Portuguese winger Nani happy with new coach
The Portuguese national football team managed to defeat Denmark in an impressive 3-1 victory. It was Manchester United’s in form winger Nani who found the net twice in a span of three minutes, announcing his arrival in the national
side.
The winger had to miss the World Cup owing to a shoulder injury but was delighted to be back in the outfit and score to mark a historic victory. Former Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo also found the net, ending his
drought. Ronaldo was one of the many flops of this summer’s World Cup, as he managed to score just once in 4 appearances for the side. Ronaldo was one of the many big names who failed to fire in the World Cup, which included former team mate Wayne Rooney,
Lionel Messi and Kaka. All these players were expected to be the one’s carrying their team but it were the underdogs who supported these big name players.
However Ronaldo was happy to finally find the net and Portugal are currently on the 2nd spot in their group. Both Nani and Ronaldo were extremely happy with the tactics of the new coach Paulo Bento and credited the boss
for his contribution towards their increase in form. It would have been a perfect clean sheet for the Portuguese but Ricardo Carvalho netted an own goal to give the Danes a breather.
“I missed scoring. The team played well and deserved to win. We are all to be congratulated. “Paulo Bento is the same coach with the same personality and character that I met at Sporting. Nothing has changed. The players are happy
and it shows on the field.” commented Cristiano Ronaldo.
“He strongly encouraged the players. I think this is a strong point of him. Paulo Bento has something for everyone.”, claimed Nani
Nani has transformed into one of the top talents in Europe and it is hard to believe that a player who wanted to leave Manchester United last winter is enjoying the form of his life. This season, Nani has already scored twice while
becoming a regular first team player. Sir Alex Ferguson is delighted by the performance of the 23 year old, who is following the footsteps of his former team mate Cristiano Ronaldo. Nani has the pace, skill and vision to skip past any defence and has become
an integral part of the team. The player was responsible for single handedly dismantling Arsenal last season and also scored an impressive solo goal against Bolton this season.
Cristiano Ronaldo on the other hand seems to be finding his form where he scored 35 times in 37 appearances last season. The player recently scored a brace for his club and also ended his international drought. Portuguese side
has these two pillars to depend on as both of them have a similar style of play. With Nani in the ranks, the side can always depend upon pin point crosses and inch perfect through balls. With Ronaldo, there is nothing more needed as the player can single handedly
disrupt any defence. Portugal face San Marino next in the Euro 2012 qualifiers and will want to keep their form going for the fixture. The newly installed coach would also be happy with the win as it was the boss’s first win as the National team coach.
