I do this weird thing with my hand when I am skating and it kind of looks like a lobster claw. I mostly do it with my left hand, so please watch the the video and give me tips on how to fix it!!

  1. Just conciously think about your hands for one entire practice.  Only focus on them.  Also ask your coach to moniter you and tell you whenever you do it.  Take videos of yourself to moniter your progress.  I hope this helps!  By  the way, you, your dress, and your program were beautiful.

  2. HA, you fell.

and check out the question you answerd about bad posture, your such an idiott.

  3. Very nice freeskate.  I see what you mean by your lobster claws, though it's not to terribly bad.   My daughter had kinda the same problem and believe it or not her ballet classes fixed her problem. I think it helps because she  actually get to see herself in the mirror and correct that problem faster. Also your ballet instructor will have more time to work on hands and posture then your on ice coach. Good luck with your skating.

  4. I see what you're talking about. I kinda have the similar problem on my left arm when I go into my axel. My arm kinda does a twist, and looks broken. haha, but um when you skate, try thinking that your left thumb has to touch the side of your pointer finger. Maybe after you can do that for a while, it'll naturally go back to a normal hand posture. That's all i can think of..

Good luck to you and your skating :D

  5. when practicing during regular practice runthroughs, make elegant hands. your other fingers should be slightly higher than your middle finger and your middle finger and thumb should be almost touching. always be aware of your body parts, it will make your performance 10 times better.

  6. your routine is beautiful by the way... lol, except whe you hit the wall. but really, i wouldnt worry about it, i wouldnt have noticed if it wasnt pointed out. just try and focus on it, spend a while doing the routine and focusing on your hands... just keep focusing on it when your training and eventually itll become habit

  7. Honestly I don't know if I would have noticed if I hadn't been looking for it. Have the judges said anything about it?

Also, the more you get used to your program, the more arm positions and hand positions you can add to it. I noticed when you did any "egyptian" hands, the "lobster hand" disapeared. So maybe just add more hand positions. Overall though it was a really nice freeskate :)

  8. Yeah, you should def. consider ballet.  It will help with your hands and it will also make you stronger and more flexible.
