positive:

-defence

-much more chance for intelligent people, strong people, capable people to be born

-stronger country in sport, military, etc

- people in the country end up becoming more outgoing

negative:

- competition for resources

- hard to keep everyone literate in a country

- houses get smaller

- hard to keep facilities like hospitals around in the country

- larder gap between rich and poor

I suppose that there are benefits from having a greater workforce but overall I don't see many positives about massive overpopulation.

positive: growth in population is normal!!:)

negative: more people means less space and less jobs and higher dependency ratio.:)
