Question:

Positive effects of climate change?

Are there any? I know that historically Europe used to be a lot colder only a few hundred years ago. Then the planet got warmer and it unleashed the vikings from their icebound slumber, also the Tibetans went on to conquer much of Asia in a bloody campaign. The reason for this was that, the vikings could sail and the Tibetans could grow food, thus increase their numbers.

So could climate changes have positive effects aswell?

I mean right now the siberian tundra can't grow **** because it's too cold, but if it got warmer then maybe something could grow on it?

  1. Saima u...  Hey LITTLE GIRL, i'm hoping your are a 10 yr. old fresh out of a hannah montana concert, because that is the funniest, most ignorant thing i've ever heard.  h**l, even Gore didn't try to sell us that the entire planet would be consumed w/ melted ice water.  HAHAHA!  Phew, I need to catch my breath from that one!

  2. Some lightly populated areas will be able to produce more food.  Canada will be able to increase its already ample production of wheat for example.  It is the highly populated, low-lying mostly-poor coastal countries that will be most harmed.

  3. California seems to do ok without winter.

  4. Climate change would not have any positive effects.

Just think, if it got hotter our whole planet would go under water because all the ice would start to melt so no more people!

then, all that water would evaporate and condense into clouds and that would cause cold wind currents to spread all over earth so no little boy, THERE ARE NO POSITIVE EFFECTS!

  5. I think you are referring to Mongols, not Tibetans.  Hopefully any warming won't unleash the Tibetan hoard.  Sorry, I just picture the Dolly Lama in his robes leading the attack.

There are plenty of benefits.  Increased greenhouse gases will increase food production by increasing the growing season

It will increase the coldest night time and winter temperatures from what it would have been (albeit slightly).

Less energy will be required to heat homes.

It reduces a plants need for water and will help plants thrive.

Most temperature deaths are from cold so obviously fewer deaths overall should result.

    Fewer baby animals will starve.

    Fewer baby humans will starve.

More  young animals will survive the cold winters.

  6. There are far more pros than cons for almost all life on the planet. The exception might be animals specifically designed for arctic environments, a pretty small number. It's obvious. Some of the hottest places on earth have the greatest diversity of life forms.

How the far left loonies have been able not only to convince people of AGW theory, but also that warming is bad is more than ridiculous. How can one so desperately defy common-sense and yet be taken seriously is a great mystery. Are people really this ignorant?
