  1. PARIS!  I would travel the Coast, but live in Paris!  And negatives?   I can't think of any!  (except possible homesickness, but you get over that).

  2. Paris is nice. The city is nice,it is my hometown but it can get extremely expensive. The tax rates are high. They get higher too often. There is occasional rioting and voilence. The rates on my apartment building were just raised but I am not sure it was universal.Traffic in Paris is a drag and we are crazy drivers. Most Parisians are not payed what they deserve.

Good Public transportation.A very uniique city with even more unique people.A good appreciation for life and art. Some of the best food around.A diverse mix of people from other countries and cultures.Great music in my opinion.Wondeful health care system. Most apartments have a high standard of living compared to some other places I have been. They are small though.

If you come here you will enjoy it.Just try not compare it with all the things back at your home.Take it for what it is and you will have a great time.

  3. 1. The first rate medical system and a well run system of government regulated universal health insurance. (The French are some of the healthiest people on Earth.)

    2. A very high standard of cuisine which reflects an appreciation for freshness, respect for seasonal consonance, and the unique quality of the terroir.

    3. A well thought out system of public transportation. Which is one reason the French use only half as much petroleum per capital as Americans.

    4. A generally high level of intellectual discourse and an emphasis on logical analysis rather than emotionalism.

    5. A healthy skepticism about the value of materialism.

Some things that most people would regard as bad would include:

    1. High unemployment

    2. A bureaucracy that tends to be rigid, officious, and petty.

    3. A tax system that makes the French the most heavily taxed people in Europe, an area not known for low taxes.

    4. Government centalization which all but forbids local initiative, experimentation, or consideration of regional needs.

    5. A tendency to value security to the point of stunting individual initiative. A survey of French college students revealed that the number one career choice was "Government employee."
