What is the positioning of a 7.1 channel help get ten points I know a 6.1 surround sound is 3 rear speakers 2 front speakers and 1 center speaker then the sub. So how do you do it with a 7.1 channel?

  1. Your L/C/R are in front and your SL (surround left) and SR (surround right) are positioned at ear level.  That completes a 5.1 system.  For a 7.1, you add a SBL (surround back left) and SBR behind the listener.  Positioning your subwoofer would depend on room size, seating, etc.


  2. Front/centre/sub the same. Two side speakers just behind the listening position at about ear level or a bit higher, and two rear speakers above ear height.

  3. firstly you put the center, sub, frounts where they usurly go and then spread the three other speakers ovenly around the back of the room put one in the center the others 0.5m or more or less depending the size of the room next to the sides of the room
