Possable massive gas leak in New York City?

at around 9AM today, people in New York City, were exposed to a very large so called natural gas leak.If you realy think about it, does it not seem the city is trying to play down what they are telling the people about their findings? news says 80 block radious and even into new jersey, could smell it very strong.

Yes, I work in the Empire State Building in New York City, I take the Long Island Railroad into the city for work.  When I got out of Penn Station, I couldn't believe the stench, then a block later, I wondered, what the heck is that smell, it smells like someone's oven is leaking Gas!!  Then, when I got to my office on the 23rd floor and still smelled gas, I started sniffing my coat!  I thought I was losing my mind!   Then for the next hour the PA system in the empire state building kept saying "The smell is outside of the building, there is no need for concern, the smell is not inside the building".   Needless to say at 10:30 am I left the city and got home about noon.  I seemed to remember authorities telling tenants in one of the towers that "there was no need for concern" before they fell in 2001.  I hightaled it outta there!

I KNOW!!!  THEY DONT WANT US TO PANIC!! THOSE PEOPLE CAN GET CANCER DOWN THE LINE 4RM THAT!  IT MAY BE A TERRORIST THING! HOPE NOT!
