Question:

Possesion charges on minors?

What could possibly happen if someone under the age of 18 gets charged with possesion ? If it changes from drug to alcohol or whatever, I'm sort of specifically asking about weed.

Over the summer me and my friend got pulled over, he's 18 and I'm 15, and they found our blunt. They let us go, but if they decided to take us or whatever the cops do, what would have happened to me?

  1. same thing happened to my friends, me and her both being 15. she went strait to jail. be more careful lol

  2. It all depends how much they wanna push the issue. The cop could very well have arrested you right then and there, he could have simply given you a ticket (misdemeanor possession), or what he did do and let you go. If you were taken in, you could have been charged with possession and more than likely would have had to call your parents to come get you.

  3. Since your 15, you would be charged as a juvenile.  Juvenile proceedings are handled by family court or juvenile courts dependent on the state.  If by "clear and convincing" evidence you were found guilty, you probably would get some sort of community service or slap on the rist if you were a first time offender.  Then your record would be sealed upon reaching 18.
