Im in a keeper league with 4 keepers.....

I know im keeping: Big Ben.... Anquan Boldin and Plaxico Burress...

I need a good RB mine are: Travis Henry, Rudi Johnson, Earnest Graham (dont think he will repeat).

I was thinking about trading for Ronnie Brown or Reggie Bush....

Ive got the 6th pick in my draft... it doesnt reverse

Should i give up a 3rd round pick to get either? or do you all think what i got is good enough?

  1. go after ronnie brown, he was leading the league in rush yds, and rush td's before he was injured.

  2. To any people who like football, fantasy football kind of. There is this great new online game where you create a player of any position and customize to how you want. You can sign a contract with any team you want and play in games. It is really fun and its free.

  3. Eeeewwwwww! Not the best RBs!  Who's your TE or DEF?  Like the other guy said keep Johnson if you must but definately not the other two.  Henry was cut by Den.  If you can get Brown for a third round pick do it!  Also, be sure to get a RB with your first pick - probably a rookie unless maybe 5 rookie RBs go off the board first.  Definately try to shore up your RB core.  Good Luck!

  4. If you keep a RB, keep Johnson, neither of the other 2.

I would think Ronnie Brown would be worth a 3rd, I would try it.

  5. See if you can package Graham with your 5th round pick (since your keepers will be auto-drafted for the first four rounds).

  6. Whoa here.  Before you start talking players, you need to review the players as they relate to your league's scoring system.

Is it 1 pt/10 yards from scrimmage or 1pt/20-25 yards?  6 pts or 4 pts per TD?  Any pts/receptions?  In a league that values TDs (i.e. 6 pts/TD and 1 pt/20-25 yards with no pts/receptions), you want the back who has more of a chance to see the endzone.  Graham is a guy Gruden trusts, Cadillac has never been a big TD guy, and it's doubtful the Tampa offense will change much (Gruden knows what his D is and will play it safe/smart on offense).  Rudi is the same way at the goalline.

As for the other guys you mention --

Ronnie Brown -- major knee injury last year, the same kind that Donovan McNabb had and was way ahead of schedule a few years ago at this point.  Plus RB-by-committee is likely (think what Sparano/Parcells did in Dallas).  Major boom or bust (and look at Brown's career stats); worth a risk but after seeing the extent of his injury, I dropped him in my keeper league during last season.

Reggie Bush -- Should see the end zone more in 2008 than 2007, but remember that the Saints have a bunch of weapons and Reggie's great pick-up only if you get points for receptions.

I also think you may be able to make some depth picks if one of those guys doesn't fall to you -- grab RBs in quantity and see how the season plays out (don't grab extra Ks, TEs as you can always grab one off free agents for bye weeks) -- that may pan out.  I.E. one of the Broncos' RBs, the Bears rookie, Justin Fargas, Mendenhall (Parker is coming off a broken leg), back-ups on higher-powered offensive teams (SD, New England etc....a few years ago I "reached" for KC back-up Larry Johnson in a keeper league).  Plus, if say you stay put at #6 and a desired RB doesn't fall to you, don't hesitate to grab the top-rated QB (i.e. if there's a Brees or Romo) as he'll be great bye-week/injury depth -- and prime mid-season trade inventory desired by the team with a crappy QB that's willing to overpay with a top RB

  7. I personally think Rudi's days as the plowhorse in Cincy are over.  I'd hang on to Graham if I were you.  I seriously doubt Ronnie Brown will make it to the third round, though, and I wouldn't trade for Reggie.
