  1. Check out the following page:

    http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index....

It has a lot of info on the development of OSx86, a project of developing Mac OSX for pc-based systems.

  2. Yes. It is questionably legal, depending on your local laws. See the website below for more information and tutorials.

It requires that you use a modified version of OS X, which violates the license agreement with Apple, which is a potential civil issue. You have to be an expert to modify OS X properly, and it isn't exactly easy to get it running on a PC even if you have access to a modified version. It should also be noted that if you use a modified version of OS X without purchasing an official copy, it is considered software p****y in most jurisdictions.

In other words it is possible, but if you actually want a good fully functional experience with Mac OS X you should purchase a Mac. There are many technical difficulties (and possibly legal ones as well) in getting it to run on non-Apple hardware.

If you aren't particularly set on using OS X and are just not very happy with Windows, I'd recommend trying Ubuntu Linux. It is much easier to set up on a PC than OS X and is absolutely legal, and free!

  3. You can't install MAC OS on any PC... you could have purchased a MAC and installed XP on it, but I hear it doesn't run as good as XP on a PC.

  4. cant put mac software on a dell

  5. mac os x and xp are designed to work with a particular computer architecture.  If you want to run os x on your pc then you have to use an emulator.  if you want to run xp on you rmac then you need to run an emulator.  Emulators run on top of the original program.

  6. no

  7. nope

  8. It is possible. You can run it in Windows XP with Pear PC, however if you use Pear PC, it cannot be an Intel copy of OSX and it cannot be Leopard.

  9. It can be done but it is less than ideal.

It takes a lot of time, and a lot of work, but with the newer Macs using Intel Processors it can be done. I wouldn't recommend it if your processor doesn't support SSE3 or later. The Mac OSX relies on it for things such as ITunes.

CPU-z can tell you what instructions your CPU supports.

  10. go to the apple store and talk to them.

  11. Yes, mac has relied on Microsoft technology enough to the point where it is possible to get a mac operating system on a PC.

thats one way to do it,

The problem you will run into is the sound and networking issues, you may not have either depending on the hardware you have.

the legality issue, who cares, i mean you have any idea how much money both companies make? support smaller individual programmers, but the big companies... they are easy to crack / hack  and wont find out....  no way to find out anyway if the internets not working.

all these people saying no are funny....
