Possible destinations for Gareth Bale (Part 1)

Its official, Gareth Bale is now the best and most sought after youngster in world football. The former Southampton youngster’s rise to fame has been truly breathtaking. Where he found first team football hard to come by a year ago, he is arguably the first
pick on Harry Redknapp’s team sheet. Bale waited and waited on the bench, and then in treatment rooms with frustrating injuries. But he never gave up because he knew his time was to come, and so it has.
The list of European clubs running after his signature is never ending. The player will virtually walk in to any team on the planet; such has been his form of late. Bale’s exploits on the continental stage have been truly world class, paradoxically; his
domestic form has been to the contrary. However, a player of his ingenious quality will overcome the domestic woes sooner or later. In Harry Redknapp, he has a coach and a mentor who knows just how to further his career.
Last night, Bale ran the reigning European Champions out of their minds. In two fixtures against the Nerazzuri, Bale scored 3 and assisted directly in a further two. His quick feet and mesmerising wing play has surely added a further 10 million pounds to
an already burgeoning price tag.
Since a host of teams are interested in the player, it won’t be long before Gareth Bale will pack his bags and leave for pastures greener. We now look at the possible destinations the Welshman might be headed to.
Manchester United
One has to say, this is a match made in heaven. Sir Alex Ferguson is a long-time admirer of Bale’s mercurial talents. Red Devils even made an approach for the player only to be snubbed by the player himself. Bale feared for his first team chances and signed
for Tottenham. That was of course three years ago. As things stand, Bale will walk into the Manchester United squad any time of the day. Red Devils already have a Welshman in their ranks – Yes, you guessed it – Ryan Giggs. The arrival of Bale will see a legend
pass on the baton to a legend in the making. Giggs has served the club graciously well and looks to see his remaining playing days with a club that made his a global superstar.
The only potential hindrance for such a transfer would be the price tag. Bale has already outgrown the financial means of many clubs across the continent. However, the talent of this player is such, Sir Alex Ferguson should break the bank if need be and
he just might. Should Tottenham fail to qualify for Champions League in the coming season, Manchester United would be odds-on favourites to land the Mercurial wing wizard.
Real Madrid
It’s just impossible to leave out Los Galacticos when speculating about a super star’s future. Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez has puppy eyes for the Welsh winger and why not, the club has all the money in the world to make such a transfer happen.
However, it’s arguable whether Real Madrid needs his services – Yes; they are that strong – in a squad already glowing with continental wealth. Jose Mourinho has the likes of Mesut Ozil and Angel Di Maria playing on the wings while Marcelo has shown tremendous
improvement on the left.
Jose Mourinho has publicly mooted the rumours linking him with defensive reinforcements, particularly in the left back area. Apparently, Marcelo has won over the coach with his hard work and improvement. Since we all know Mourinho doest like the administration
interfering in footballing matters, a bid for Bale seems unlikely.
