  1. Right now it looks like it's gonna head straight for New Orleans, bless their souls.  Of course it's way too early to tell for sure, so anyone in Florida or on the Gulf Coast should keep an eye on it.

An easy way to track Ike is with http://www.USAMediaGuide.com. It has a special section of links to Ike's projected path, National Hurricane Center and local news coverage, hurricane preparation tips, live streaming webcams, and other Ike-related stuff.

  2. That is an excellent question! As of right now, the models do show it heading into the Gulf of Mexico probably impacting the Miami area and/or the Florida Keys. However, as we saw with Hanna (who was also supposed to track into the Gulf) is now going to impact the East Coast. So we will have to watch and see what happens with it.

  3. You have to watch the High. If it move east it will go around it north up Florida. But if the high stays where it is it might move into the gulf and then go up to Mississippi or Alabama

  4. Either fate is possible:)

  5. Current track has it moving into the gulf.. its too early to predict if itll continue to curve back up to tampa or if itll go to the gulf and turn into a cat 5.
