Question:

Possible homes for large "common plecos"?

I just acquired a 30 gallon tank; however it is grossly overcrowded. It has 3 common plecos in it, the smallest is about 6 inches, the largest 10. Even one of them would be too large for my tank. Any ideas on what I can do with the plecos? I'm not the type to just try and flush a fish I don't want...

  1. Why dont you talk to your local pet or fish store and see if they would be interested in the plecos?

If they are a good store, they will be able to keep them seperate and quarentine/treat them before they put them in with other fish or try to sell them.

You may be able to try to sell them or trade them for some supplies.

  2. trade them  in for other fish in fish stores
