  1. Depends on your computer. Yes if you have another slot available. Some computers need chips of the same size (128 plus 128, 1GB plus 1GB, for example) though.

You can add another ram(add up) only if u have an extra slot provided by the manufacturer on your mother board.If provided,you need to check the maximum capability of ram memory supported by your mother board in your mother board supply support book (or) else you can find it on internet about your mother board capability.

    If your mother board supports 2gb of ram memory then you can use all possible combination's of two rams till the limit of 2gb.

    NOTE:Also check weather your ram slot is ddr2 or 3 or any other.
