Possible mental problem?

Okay, I think I may have a mental problem. I'm 15 at the moment, although I'm very mature for my age. I personally hate modern society, all the rap, all the s***s (sorry to say), all the politics and conflicting religions. I love the outdoors and nature. Okay, but here's the problem. Everytime I'm sitting down and doing nothing in modern society, or even doing something I don't see is contributing to my personal goal, I start to actually get mad. I start to got very hot and sweat and I'm able to control that and then I start to get upset and depressed. I can't talk to my parents about it because they don't care about me. I am NOT lying when I say that. My dad is always working and when he comes home, he just yells at me telling me to get out. And my mom only cares about herself. I know something is wrong with me. I'm positive. Everytime I hurt myself somehow, she says to suck it up. My heel right now is actually fractured, and she hasn't taken me to the doctor because honestly, she is lazy. She sits down all day and watches t.v. and claims she is paying bills but only does that for about an hour. Any ideas though on what the mental problem is?

  1. sorry to hear about your parents being like that to you... suggestion about the fractured heel- tell another adult-an older cousin, aunt, teacher, friend's parents, someone to take you to the Dr. that is a must. and it sounds like you have anger issues or anxiety. another reason to talk to a Dr.   Therapy can help relax yourself. A Dr. will guide you in that area. See one!

  2. You might want to talk to your school counsellor and perhaps he or she can help you.

  3. I don't think you have a mental problem, I think you have a really unfortunate family. Living in a house like that I can imagine it IS hard to like things.

Many people don't like those things.

I don't like rap, I don't know anyone who likes s***s, I don't like politics and I don't like religion and the trouble it causes... I don't know of anyone who does like all of the conflict. As a society unfortunately it's just something we have to put up with.

The reaction you have to not doing anything, or feeling like its not contributing to you life goal is frustration. Like you feel your life is going nowhere. This probably isn't helped by your unsupportive parents. It's possibly them that make you so desperately want to achieve something, perhaps to prove a point to them you are worth something (that is an entire guess because I don't know your full situation, but it's a possibility to consider.)

When you control your anger you become upset and depressed because you haven't actually corrected anything that you hate in your life. You can suppress the anger at having to do something that seems so pointless to you, but then you become depressed because you haven't corrected it.

I'm not sure what to suggest, perhaps consider what it is that you want to achieve out of life, then do something towards that. Do anything. Devote even one hour of your time a week to that thing, be it planning or researching, and maybe that will make you less frustrated, just consider that you have to get through this part of your life first so that you have the everyday basic skills to live your own life. When you get your own life, it may be a few years away yet, but when you do, live it how you need to get where you want to be.

Take it a step at a time, and for now ignore your parents, they'll realise soon enough what they are doing to you, and as parents, they will regret it.

I hope what I've said helps at all.

One thing i will say is talk. If you have a problem talk about it. It doesn't matter to what or who, talk to an animal, talk to a tree, just talk. The more you talk the more you start to see solutions to things..

    All the best. x
