when is the best time to be able to concieve? i had intercoures with my boyfriend yesterday and i am supposed to start on the second of august....????? please help

It's crazy...here you are, trying your darndest to get pregnant..and then on Yahoo answers, you see 13 year olds posting dumb questions about how they became pregnant and how they're so scared! *gasp*

It's almost a joke, really. My husband and I tried to conceive for a while year. Last year around Thanksgiving time, it finally happened. I think it wasn't happening for a whole year because I was stressing so much over it. I kept thinking about the baby. I kept counting days, researching my ovulation charts, reading about all kinds of crazy methods to conceive a child. I had baby on the brain. Finally in November last year, I gave up. I had a move to think about. I had to pack things, clothes, furniture...had to get an apartment, start paying new bills with my husband, make a road trip to our new state..things were hectic and I forgot about baby-making, and somewhere around that time, it happened. I think when you are anticipating a child, your body isn't going to respond only because of how the stress hormones are high even though you don't know it. And this can even put your cycle off. Good luck..I know it's so freakin frustrating...but it will happen. Like I said, we tried for a year..now I'm 37 weeks and almost ready to say Hello to my own little one. I do wish you the best.

The 28th is pretty late in  your cycle if you expect your period on the 2nd.  

Most women ovulate about 14 days (12-16 days) before their next period.  Sperm can live in your body for 3-5 days, but the egg only lives about 24 hours.  So you would want to time things so you have s*x a few times in the 3-5 days before ovulation.  (From about 18 days before your next period until about 11 days before should cover all your bases.)

If you want to target things more closely, you can use an ovulation predictor kit or monitor your BBT for a few cycles.

Sounds like you Don't want to get pregnant. You are open for business a few days before and after your period.

If you have a 28 day cycle you're most fertile 14 days after your period STARTS so if you're a 28 "dayer" you probably ovulated around the 19th of this month so you probably missed your egg this month.

It all depends on the length of your cycle and if you are regular.  I would definitely google ovulation calendar to see when possible fertile days could be.  Good luck!
