Question:

Possible rape, what should she do? Health risks?

I have a female friend who has a dentist that she is very attracted to. One day for her root canal she was put to sleep (her request) because she really fears pain. She woke up feeling her clothes weren't on right and feeling sore along with a funny taste in her mouth. When she told me, I told her she should go straight to the police. Now this is where it gets weird. She doesn't want to report it. In fact, she still goes to her dentist and asks to be knocked out whenever possible. It's already happened a few times and each time she wakes up feeling the same. When I asked her why she just doesn't tell the dentist she's attracted, she says she likes the thrill of him taking advantage of her. The weird thing is, I believe there is a law where a female assistant has to be present during these procedures, but that doesn't seem to make a difference in the outcome of how she feels after she wakes from her procedures. I've already asked her "what if he's doing it to someone else, which more than likely he is?" What if he's taking pictures or even videos? What if one day it winds up in the internet? Strangely, she can't give up this weird habit. She says he'll probably get caught by another patient anyway. So my question is, has anyone heard of anyone being addicted to this kind of weird "behaviour"? And what is the health hazard of being knocked out in the dental office often? And she is a very attractive girl and probably can get any guy she wants, so I'm not sure why she has to resort to this. She's not "easy" by any means, only when it comes to this. I thought about reporting him myself, but I dont' have any proof and I don't even know the guy. Advice?

  1. For the funny taste in her mouth, the novicane, or whatever she gets knocked out with. And she is sore cause she was laying around for a long time, and having her mouth yanked on. To me it seems like she wants to believe her dentist effed her so it's hopeful thinking.

  2. I haven't heard of this kind of thing before, but she should not wait for it to happen to another girl, that's just wrong.  I suggest you go to the police and see what happens.

  3. sounds to me like your friend is making this whole scheme up. Maybe she doesn't want to report him because she knows in her heart that she's just making it up.

Sounds really kinky though. Rape at the dentist's office.

  4. You should try to impress upon your friend that her behavior is not safe or normal.  While it is true that this could be happening to other patients, I don't believe that in your friends case it is rape.  "...she likes the thrill of him taking advantage of her" is akin to consent and she keeps going back.

It is also possible that because she is attracted to him and sedated, she fantasizes about an event that never occurred.  I had some strange and vivid dreams when I went under for my wisdom teeth.  I would not advise that you go to police without stronger evidence against the dentist.

  5. Well, in her case, if this is really happening her to her, it's no longer rape if she continues to allow it to happen, because she "likes the thrill".

  6. wow...

    she is wierd.

You can always go to the police and tell them what she told you. Then they can do their own investigation. They don't even have to tell her you told, they can just say they got a "tip".

Go to the police statioon, they'll work out a way where you can tell them everything ang no one will know it is you.

& you're right, what if he is taking pics or vidoe taping it?!?!?!? Or what if he is doing this to other women and they are infected with an STD?!

  7. If she likes it whats the problem?

Why don't you tell her you have feelings for her?

  8. i would find some way to record what happens while shes undergoing a procedure. like when your with her put a recorder in her outfit. or a camera or something then somehow get it back then you can see whats really going on.

  9. wow...um ok, not to make it sound like I'm playing down the whole situation but this really sounds like she's playing out some sort of weird fantasy in her head.  If she is seriously suspicious of this guy then she needs to report it.  If she doesn't, I'm sorry to say she's being selfish and very narrowminded and naive.  She has a degree of responsibility here. KNow what i mean?  She has to report it if she really believes that she's being taken advantage of.  And yes, where I live, a female assistant is always present and the whole visit is recorded for security reasons.  But I don't know that it's like that everywhere.

I must admit, her behaviour makes me rather upset (having been a victim of rape myself).  And if she's lying....well let's not get me started.

If I were in your shoes I'd tell her I was going to call the police about what she told me because what's going on is a crime and can't be left unreported.  I don't know that the police would be able to do much about it, especially if she is going to be reluctant to talk to them about her claims, but at least in having told the police I would feel far more responsible.

  10. you have to convince her to go to the doctor and get checked out.
