Question:

Possible to Make it on JV Tennis Team with 2 Months of Practice?

I recently picked up tennis in early June in order to try and make it on the JV Tennis team in late August.

Before, I had been playing badminton for about 3 years, so I still have the athleticism needed to play tennis; I have also quit badminton in order to concentrate on tennis and not mix up the strokes.

I have been practicing at least an hour daily, with 2-3 hours at least 3-4 days a week. Is it physically possible for me to make it on the team?

  1. Impossible? nope. But why give up three years of badminton?

  2. I bet that you'll make it. It's not that hard to make JV.

  3. i've made varsity with 1 month of practice and i wasn't even serious about it. to me it  sounds like you are serious, so at try outs just to make sure give it your all andim sure you will make the team like it was made for you.

    Good Luck

  4. Every school is different.  It all depends on how big the team is and how good the players are.  There are some really bad teams that would throw you on the varsity squad, because they're short players.  You should be fine.

  5. Yes definitely because I was able to do it.

  6. It all depends on the team's standards.

I think 2 months isn't enough time but you never know.

  7. well if you really want to make it into jv, then you might wanna get a private coach, it'll do alot for you.

i started tennis a year ago, i was 14 and i was in the frosh team. and now im 15 and im gonna get in jv, because i practiced everyday and got a private coach.

so if your school has a frosh team, then it's best if you settle for that and take it easy.

  8. Absolutely, but it all depends on three things: what school you attend, how many are on the jv team, and if you are willing to deticate yourself to the sport. Who knows, maybe you'll make varsity within a year or two. :-)
