Question:

Possible to combine cable and antennae on one cable?

Is it possible to use some kind of reverse type splitter to put an HD antennae signal on the same cable that's bringing in analog? I'm hoping to to splice them right when the analog comes into the house so I can receive both sets of channels from all TVs.

I'm looking for a way to NOT have to run a separate cable from the antennae to every TV in the house which would effectively make me double the wall cable sockets.

  1. YES.  But I dont' think there is a spliter for this ~ you would simply have to disconnect your CABLE (box) to use the Antenna Feed.

Or if you have to put your TV on a specific channel to receive CABLE, then just change the channel on your TV to whatever channel you want.  Or if it goes through your CABLE BOX or VCR - change the channel on that to whatever channel you want and it will be the antenna feed.  I think........this makes sense to me.

  2. Yes it is possible.

You will need to purchase a Satellite Diplexer and that will have 2 inputs and one output so you can combine more than one signal to run through the existing coax cable.

If you were to try and run a 2-way splitter in reverse it probably won't work because the design of the splitter will only allow power to run one way which will affect any device requiring power to run it such as an amplifier if one is needed for the HD antenna.
