Possible to connect comp to tv without a S-video?

my comp has the s-video plug but my tv doesnt... can i still connect it to it? if so, howwwww, thanks =]

  1. You can buy an S-video to RCA adapter. It's like $3 at Radio Shack. I can't find it on their website, but I have bought two of them there. It's a little connector that you connect your svideo cable into the one side, and an RCA cable to the other. Allows you to switch from Svideo to RCA, or vice a versa. You can find them on Ebay too. Technically it would be a female S-Video to Female RCA connector.

    Yes, the red, white, and yellow inputs are called RCA. Typically you use them to hook up a game cube, nintendo wii, or a dvd player, etc. The cable you showed should work. It would also provide you with sound from you computer to the TV's speakers. If you don't need the sound to come out of the TV, then I would personally go with a connector instead of a cable, especially if you already own an s-video cable. Check out my link. The connector is like $4 bucks.

    You plug the connector into the TV's input, and then attach the s-video cable directly from your computer to the connector. It's that simple! Good luck!
