Possible to score a 2 or 3 on AP without essays?

I am a very bright student and get As in my classes (my school is moderately difficult, its in the top 1000 for US public high schools). I recently got back my AP score report and saw i scored 2, 2, 2, 3. I took 4 AP classes and test. I am shocked and I want to find out why i did so poorly. On two of my AP test i answered about 65% of the multiple choice questions, another one i answered about 35-41% of the multiple choice and the other 91% of the multiple choice. I hardly guesses on any of my APs so whatever percentage of the m/c i answered I did so CONFIDENTLY. For the part two/essays for the APs i did decently on, I would say like a 6 or 7 out of 9 as I usually scored that in practice and feel i did the same on the tests.

So my first question is, is it possible to score a 2 or 3 solely off the multiple-choice (say, hypothetically, if the part two/essay booklets got lost)?

  1. Taking ap classes in high school will never EVER hurt someone who wants to go to a college, it only looks good.  About the score issue, if you dont do the essays you cant get higher than a 1 so its safe to say they were counted.  You may have not answer enough questions on your multiple choices depending on what class you have as for a couple of ap classes, you should be answering typically all of them (such as the english ap tests). But yeah, i wouldnt sweat the scores it wont hurt you in the long run unless you really wanted to get college credit.
