Possibly Abused Rabbits? Please read description?

At the fair, at the FFA building, there were 15 young rabbits in one cramped cage with no food and very little water with bedding in it. My brother and I have rabbits at the fair, so we had rabbit food on hand. We pushed it into the cage and all of them dove for it. One of them had a very large infected sore on its head and neck. They are for sale. What should I do?

  1. Report the owner. What an *** for treating them that way.  He/she can seriously get fined for that ****.

  2. Wow, that's is cruel. What I would do, if I had a lot of money on hand, is buy most of the rabbits and care for them, and take them to the vet. But, if you don't want to take the trouble for that, then I would definitely report him, but I don't know if the ASPCA, or the others would respond quickly because there are a lot of other abused animals that need care. I hope you can buy at least some of them and give it a good home. Best wishes!

  3. well would your mom/dad let you buy them? if so i would buy them get them healthy and resell them! or if you can report the owner! i'm a rabbit lover and owner and i have saved over 60 rabbits from fairs and resell them to good homes!

  4. Report the owner to the humane society

  5. call the cops and let them know that there is possible animal abuse and pet neglection

  6. call animal control or animal humane society

  7. Go to whoever is in charge of the FFA program for the fair. Report the suspected abuse so it can be investigated.

It could have been an unfortunate mistake.

  9. Complete abuse! UGH. I hate people when they do this!

You MUST report them for the animals sake. Animals should NOT be treated this way!

    PEOPLE MAKE ME SICK!

  10. I love the freaked out over reactions people give here.  Ugh.  *rolls eyes*

There is a organized way of doing things at fairs.  There are fair staff/volunteers there to help and make sure all animals are healthy and being properly cared for.  There will also be FFA leaders responsible for making sure the teens have healthy animals there and are caring for them.  Some fairs have a vet on hand for emergencies.

You need to go back to the fair and ask for the superintendent or show secretary.  Tell them about the rabbits.  Show them.  They are there to deal with such situations and certainly will do just that.

Next time, don't feed the rabbits.  I know that sounds cruel but you might get yourself into trouble.
