  1. It's gas.  Bicycle her legs and if you are breast feeding stay away from cheese, cauliflower, brocolli, chocolate and carbonated drinks. You can get some things that help a bit with that too, like gripe water

  2. Sounds like it! Try a soothing massage and warm bath. Taking baby for a ride in the pram or car also helped for me. As a last resort, speak to your doctor about BUSCOPAN. Good luck. They do grow out of it.

  3. First thing to do is calm down, baby will sense it when you get stressed. I know its awful to hear her cry but just remember, this wont last forever.  Since the baby is so young wrap her tightly in a blanket.  ( Shes used to the cramped quarters inside Mom, )hold her with her belly to your chest so you have gravity helping to bring up the gas( air in her tummy). If you have some or can send someone to a drugstore , get some Mylacon drops for infants. Its mostly simethicone and helps the little bubbles become one big bubble that can be burped up easier.  Walking rocking or swinging in a baby swing might help- or set her on your clothes dryer while its running, the white noise along with the vibrations might help.  Hang in there this wont last forever.

  4. She has gas sweetie. Gas is a killer with new babies, I thought I was going to slam my head in the wall.

Buy some gas medicine also gas exercise worked for us. You can gently squeeze her tummy, do the bicycle move with her legs and press her knees into her tummy. You will hear her release it.

This is why formula is bad for the babies, it is unnatural and gives them gas. Thats good you are breast feeding keep it up I know its rough, it could be something you ate then..

  5. its most likely gas, poor lil one

i used Colic Calm Gripe Water, and it worked like a charm!

its all natural and what not. it helps with gas, reflux and colic

congrats on the little one :)

  6. Sounds like gas but it never hurts to reassure yourself by calling the doctor!! For gas with my baby I give her a warm bath...it relaxes her belly muscles from being so tense and it makes her sleepy too!! Good luck!!

  7. When I was pregnant I bought a book called 'Baby Love' by Australian nurse and midwife Robyn Barker which was full of excellent advice. It has a great section on ailments in babies and children with symptoms and possible treatments. It saved my sanity so many times when my daughter was young. It also has lots of good advice about eating, sleeping, crying and breastfeeding (but ignore the section on teething it is completely wrong). Unfortunately I gave it to a friend when she got pregnant otherwise I would look up colic for you. You will get to know your daughter and it will get easier to manage all her needs. Make sure you have enough support- extremely important in the first year.

This is what I used to do when my daughter cried:

    Is she hungry?

    Does her nappy need changing?

    Is she hot/ cold?

Is she in uncomfortable clothes, bedding, blanket?

Is she bored? Try a new position- my daughter loved the bouncenette.

    Take her for a walk.

Put her in the baby pouch and carry her around while you do your own things.

Good luck and enjoy this special time.

  8. It might be colic but it can also be gas. New babies sometimes have a hard time with the new foods they are experiencing. I would talk to your doctor and see what can be done. I had a baby that had the same problems. I made him onion tea. I know it sounds weird but it works. It helps reduce the gas and ease the stomach pains. Try doing a rolling pin method, sit on the edge of the sofa and roll her on your knees. I hope she gets better. Good luck and just try the tea and you will see a great improvement.
