This is kind of random, but I have been wondering this..

**EXAMPLE**

Say someone was shipping something from New York to Nebraska, how does it get there so fast?

Are there people delivering overnight?

Does it "fly"?

Also, its not like everything being shipped from New York is going to Nebraska so how do they sort it, are there special places for that, and how do they do it so fast??

Sorry if I sound dumb, I dont really know how to word it and have always wondered..

  1. Mail, and postal employees work 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.  Although operations significantly slow down on Sundays and holidays there are always trucks, planes, cars and boats moving the mail.  There is so much mail to be moved everyday that the USPS has had to contract with all the major airlines to keep things moving.
