Post Office question?

I'll be taking a trip in the next couple of weeks but I'm also expecting an urgent mail from a family member around the same time. Is it possible to get my sister to send the mail to a nearby Post Office so I can collect it there? If so, what do I need to do? Thanks.

Just have your sister forward that piece of mail to General Delivery at the post office of the city you will be in. Then you can check with that post office to pick it up....

just give her the address of the post office but tell the p.o. beforehand that you may be expecting some mail and you will collect!!!

you can have it sent to your name at "general delivery" with the local post office's zip code.  then just notify them when you get there that you're expecting it.  you'll have to stop in to pick it up (they won't deliver it to a temp addr unless you fill out a bunch off cards, and ALL your mail will be sent there, it's a hassle, don't do it.) that way you can stop into the post office and see if it's arrived every few days.

Are you in the UK? Send it special delivery and if no one is home to sign for it then you have to collect it from the postoffice. But they will only hold it at the postoffice for 3 wks.
