  1. If you don't cope with the stress, sure.

  2. I'm a Viet Nam vet and mine did.

  3. most-likely if they're put in a situation that reminds them of a painful experience. My dad had a friend who was in Vietnam and when he hears sudden loud noises, he freaks out bad; dives under tables and yells. Its really sad.

  4. Yes. If they become triggered by something and have to keep going back to it again and again, then yes. I have PTSD and am triggered daily by train travel. Something happened to me years ago and I never quite got over it.

  5. The patient's experiences are often heavily influenced by current events.  That means that if stuff is happening today that triggers the traumatic memories, then yes, it can be more severe.  This is something that should be discussed with a psychologist, not an online forum.

  6. yeah, especially if you don't treat it initially :\

  7. It's a deteriorating condition similar to that of one which has paranoid skitzophrenia

  8. I am a masters level therapist and the best thing to do is to sit down with a specialist in that area.

You may want to ask yourself what you mean by worst. Is the person manifesting new symtoms that are more intense do a new set of stimuli that was not there before.

Are they working on the healing process which could be brining out some pain that needs to be dealth with that was being subpressed before.

The PTSS in my belief is not the problem. It is the symptom. The event, the developmental stage a person was when they experienced it,how that particular person interpreted it and made sense of it  and other dynamics are the problem.

Deal with those issues with a loving counselor who specializies, get around a great support net work and combine pushing yourself to deal with this and at the same time honoring where you are and who you are and you will be well on your way.

    God Bless and good luck.

  9. I'm not a doctor, so please talk to your doctor...Things can appear after any trauma. We are all different in how we handle our problems, and our emotions..

  10. Any condition has the potential to worsen over the years, especially if untreated or treated inadequately.

  11. YES.

INFACT;;; It is a FACT that at least 95% of war veterans are diagnosed with it.
