I just had my baby girl 7 days ago...vaginal birth with the epidural. I feel like my doctor didn't really do a great job at paying attention, seeing as how I have a major tear, and she only gave me one stitch. Its killing me to pee (im using the squirt bottle, and the dermoplast and taking my motrin), and I literally shrill and cry in pain when I do have to pee...ive been trying to avoid going. Today after I got out of the shower blood gushed out of me, soaking my towel, and went down my leg and i had to cup my hand and go to the bathroom...it was a bloody mess...and I was in some pain! I know when something isnt right with my body so I called the doctor...and have an appt in the morning, but I feel stupid going and feel like she is going to just tell me to take it easy and go home and rest. Am I being a baby going back to the doctor so shortly after and before the 6 week check up?

  1. I was bleeding like that and hurt like that too for 2 weeks after my boys were born and then it started going away after that. By 4 weeks I stopped bleeding and it didn't burn to pee anymore.  The tear with even one stitch would make it really hurt to pee, that urine does burn a big tear like that enough to make you want to cry and bleeding can still be pretty heavy at 7 days so chances are they will just say you are fine and to come back at 6 weeks.  Unless you start passing huge clots or running a fever or something they will just say you are healing.  Recovery takes 4-6 weeks after a vaginal birth.

  2. I had a massive tear with my son he was 9 1/2 pounds and when I asked the dr how many stiches he said a lot.  Anyhow I don't remember it stinging to pee. You have done the right thing to make apt. to go to dr. you are not being a baby. Good luck

  3. I don't think you are being a baby at all!!!  If something doesn't feel right odds are there is something wrong.  I would suggest you go to another doctor if you don't feel your doctor is going to give you proper care good luck

  4. Absolutely not. You know your body and you know something isn't right, then I would go back to the doctors. You will bleed alot after having a baby, but it shouldn't hurt that bad going pee. Hopefully they will do something for you in the morning. Good luck, and con grads on the new baby.

  5. i dont think you should feel bad at all!! ive had three kids and my fourth is on the way..one thing ive learned is that you always trust your guts...another doctor is a must i think if she just tells you to go home....i had a forceps delivery with an episiotomy and then tore further so that the stitches were almost down to the crease of where my bum became my leg and i didnt experience what you are right now...

with one of my children i had a frontal tear which burned like crazy when i peed!! oh god i couldnt nurse because i was afraid to drink cuz i knew id have to pee....what helps is to drink nothing but water...no juice, no pop no nothing...just water!

  6. call the OB now if you are in pain.

  7. lean forward when u wee, it helps....a little!

no ur not being a baby if u feel like somethings wrong its a great idea to go see a doctor

  8. i have a 4 week old baby and had tears on top and bottom. it burned to pee until this week. i had to bite down on a washcloth every time! u bleed more to if your not breastfeeding. but if you don't feel its right then your doing the right thing by going to the doctor
