If i have letters that were postage stamped(ran through our paostage meter) on 6/9/07 , can I still toss em' in the mail box at the post office, or will I will to run them through again in new envelopes with todays date?

  1. You need to apply a zero-cent metered stamp on the back with the correct date, and then you can put them in the mailbox.


  2. just toss them in the mail.  but don't wait too long.

  3. if you run them again you will have to pay again, thing to remember is it hasn't been delivered yet so it is still good, it can be harder to prove this if it has a sticker on it for a name label because they post office may believe you are just trying to scam them this way, but if it is hand written they can't dispute it.

  4. You can mail them however...

    you must run a new meter with a 0.00 postage label on the envelope showing the actual date of mailing. Also called a zero meter strip.
