So Can I mail an 8x10 bubble envelope just in a regular blue mailbox? I can weigh it on the scale at the post office and put just regular stamps on it, and throw it in the mailbox than? Does anyone know if I can do that, or if it has to be taken to the post office desk and weighed?

  1. Mail 13 ounces or less can be paid for with postage stamps and put in a blue collection box. To see how much to pay, you need to know how much it weighs (so using the scale at the post office can be helpful), and you need to look up at http://postcalc.usps.gov the price based on the shape and weight of the item. You can then use stamps with total value at least the amount of postage required.
