  5. If you need , a postcode , go to postcode finder , and follow the instrucsions

  6. There isn't just one post code for the whole of London!!

    It may start with

    N (north)

    NE (north east)

    E (east)

    EC

    S (south)

    SE (south east)

    W (west)

    SW (south west)

  7. There is no such thing as a postcode for 'London'. It is divided into six very central areas and six much larger outer areas, and all of these are sub divided alphabetically (e.g. W1 is western central and W2 is Paddington Main (an odd one out but is the main sorting office for mail to the West country), then it goes W3 for Acton, 4 Chiswick, 5 Ealing etc up to W14 which is West Kensington. The other areas are much the same except that there are a couple of "add-ons" to the SW area because these came after the original codes were finalised so they are not alphabetic - one of them just for instance is SW20 which is Anerley!

For interest, the areas are West Central (WC), Eastern Central (EC), then West (W), North West (NW), North (N), East (E), South East (SE) and South West (SW).

The only difference is that I didn't have to do a cut and paste job from elsewhere - I KNOW mine ! ! !

And note that W9 isn't Maida Vale - that's the name of a road. W9 is Maida HILL ! I'll not bother withany others.........
