i was just wondering how many of you have been disrupted by the strikes?

as a avid user of ebay and internet shopping, i have been completly stuffed.

i can understand why the postal workers do this, but 4 days?? is this really nessecary seeing as it will take weeks to clear the back log?

what is the % of staff that has been on strike?

when will the madness end and i can get my purchases? :-)

thank you to all you answer.

  1. It means that my detention letter can't get home, so I don't know the date, so i'll get a bigger detention for not turning up for the first.

And I got the first because for the FIRST TIME in 5 years I forgot my maths homework.

  2. the post office is taking the f*cking p**s !! what are people supposed to do without a postal service??? theres nothing wrong with there jobs. they should be more greatful

  3. I think it is mad.  They are going to be swamped getting all the post sorted out, so it seems they are cutting off their noses to spite their faces!

The public start to get fed up when striking affects them directly and the workers lose their support.  It's what stopped the petrol strikes about 8 years ago.

  4. they go back to work on wednesday, they strike again on the 15th of october, then there is going to be several more strike days in the run up to xmas......my hubby is a postie

  5. I know that it is bad for people like you who buy stuff on-line and my thoughts are with you at this time, but we have to clap our hands to all the workers who are going without a wage during this time because they are standing up to their boss's and our poxy governments who keep wage's low and keep on taking more of us hard working people....

  6. It is inconvenient, but I think it is important for people not to be door mats and protest when they are being treated badly by their bosses. We are lucky to live in a country where strikes can happen!

  7. i think the strike is fine

  8. This has been very disruptive to my business and means that my customers are having to pay extra to get their stuff via alternative routes.

It also means that some of my suppliers are waiting longer to get the payments I sent out by cheque.

In the end no one wins.

  9. i agree that the postal workers need to take this action but like you my internet orders have been disrupted and I have no idea when they will be artriving now. This is really quite irksome as this is the first time I have ever ordered anything over the net!

  10. Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhh no bills for a few days, I think its great

  11. I know! pain in the ****! all my p**n mags will be delayed now...pmsl only jokin.

Yeah, but i also buy from eBay and Amazon and its all gonna take ages to come through now!

Its like christmas everytime i buy something online! lol love it!

My Neighbour is a Royal Mail Manager in our area and he has to deliver the Special Delivery parcels whilst the rest of the staff are on strike, poor him has to work more hours.

By the way i am from the Wirral/Near Liverpool.

  12. I think it is daft, cos they will have more letters to deliver when they get back. so they are only making work harder for themselves. Most of the letters i get are bills which always get paid by direct debit, so it makes no odds to me if i get the letter or not.

  13. No one goes on strike unless they have to,Jobs are on the line.

  14. the workers themselveshavent got much choice in the matter, the union decides the days and then you either strike or get called a scab!!
