  1. Baby oil on the hair to keep him/her from getting cradle cap. But not on the rest of the body because it has a tendency to break out their skin.

Baby lotion on the face and rest of the body to keep it from getting dry skin.

  2. I never used lotion or baby oil on my girls head. My youngest daughter got cradle cap and I read in a book to use vitamin E oil on it and it worked.

  3. I didn't ever put anything on my son's head.  Still don't.  Except shampoo at bath time of course.

  4. You don't need to apply anything to their head (besides baby wash when you bathe them) unless they have cradle cap.  In that case, you can apply a little bit of mineral oil onto their scalp and massage it in before you shampoo your babies hair.  This will help to loosen it up a bit.  There is a baby shampoo made especially for cradle cap that I have seen at Target.  I believe the brand name is Good Nature.  My pediatrician said it was okay to use as long as you don't get in your babies eyes.  I never did use to as I didn't want to take the chance of getting it in my daughter's eyes.  Cradle cap is harmless & usually goes away on its own after a few months.

  5. oil...that will take care of ANY cradle cap as long as you brush it through!

  6. well oil is good to get rid of any cradel cap....lotion u can use for dry skin

  7. Well depends where exactly you are putting it and what you are using it for.

My son had cradle cap really bad and I poured baby oil onto his scalp and rubbed it in.  I waited about 10 mins and then take a fine tooth comb and combed his scalp and head - it will come right off.  It only took once and it all went away.

    Good luck

  8. Does the baby have cradle cap? Or are you just asking what is best to put on the baby's skin.  The brand Aveno is always good and safe and Cetaphil.  My sister works for a dermatologist and he recommends those for babies and sensitive skin. If the baby has cradle cap there is a light green bottle the brand is something like Nature's Choice. You rub it on and use a baby brush to softly work it in and remove the old skin and wash it off and I would just put a little more to keep it really moisturized.
