After shocking high-flying Espanyol in their last La Liga fixture, Portuguese striker Helder Postiga wants Real Zaragoza to kick-start their fight to escape relegation.
After going 16 league games without a win that saw Javier Aguirre exiting the dugout, Real Zaragoza finally got all three points against Espanyol. Los Manos now take on fellow relegation-threatened side, Real Betis, at La Romareda.
Ahead of the match, former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186 striker, Helder Postiga, stated the importance of their win against Espanyol and hopes Zaragoza can make home advantage count against their Andalusian rivals.
Postiga believes Los Manos should use the crowd to their advantage against Real Betis. Continuing on the topic, he added that they will have to fight to win every match in order to stave off relegation by the end of the season.
"It's true that from now on every game is a final, especially at La Romareda, where with the support from the stands we must win every game," he said while talking to Spanish sports daily, AS.
"While it's still mathematically possible (to stay up), we must fight for it."
The win over Espanyol has instilled the lost confidence in a down and out Real Zaragoza side, with Postiga admitting that the environment in the dressing room has changed.
He added that Los Blanquillos have been working hard for positive results but have spurned their chances against Getafe and Rayo Vallecano. Postiga cautioned that they cannot afford to lose ground again and will have to continue improving.
"It was very important to beat a team doing so well in the league after going so long without a victory. I'm sure that this is going to give us a lot of confidence."
"We'd been working hard to get a victory before the Espanyol game and we had our chances against Getafe and Rayo, but we didn't have any luck. Now we need to continue improving," the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Portugal-c2984 international said.
With 15 La Liga fixtures remaining and a tough schedule ahead of them, Real Zaragoza find themselves eight point adrift of safety and a win at home against Real Betis will surely go a long way in helping them secure safety.
